Attached to Accomplishments (Cereal Recipe)

Today, as my mother (finally) started cleaning all the Christmas decorations up, my sister rummaged through the boxes and cabinets and pulled out my elementary school awards. Laughing at the blue ribbons that I couldn't even remember the occasion for, I asked my father, "You can't take it with you, so what do you get?"

In the famous words of Stephen Schwartz's Jesus (see Godspell)... I am trying to find the answer.

Fighting the Losing Fight (Carob Pumpkin Oatcakes Recipe)

I recently turned 16, Scribblers. (: I fell sick around the same time, but I guess it was my body's gift/wake-up call of a peaceful respite coupled with an order to reprioritize my life for some sleep.

Vegan picnic with Jessie! The video will be out shortly, consider this blog post a teaser.

Which I have an issue with. But I have been furiously trying to sort out other things in my life in the meantime. For example, my life purpose.

Many Ways to Go (THREE SMOOTHIE RECIPES)

Sometimes being a vegan blends with severe feelings of wanderlust. You yearn for a society that isn't mandated by rules, more like your own little haven of adventure. Choosing your own path with no one governing you, no censor for your self-expression, and no one's permission required to chase your wildest dreams.

Procrastination Feelings

My apologies. I've been quite absent because of this cooling off period after being busy for my life. Sometimes you get the ball rolling in life, and when you finally get to rest for a little, the moss begins to grow on that once rolling stone. That's what happened.

Bekah and I have some exciting news!!

I guess the fact that school is this daunting figure in the fog isn't helping.
I have to face the do-nothing feeling of procrastination that has engulfed me lately.
But to be honest, I'm kind of stuck in this rut of minimalism. And not the hipster lifestyle of living with the smallest footprint on the world. More like glorified lazyness.

Loving Failure (Lime Breakfast Recipes)

Well, does anyone really love to fail? The point is: when I fail, I am always greeted with love. It's a thing I want to tell you all about today. I've been heavily procrastinating and busy atop of it all, so I apologize for the lack of recipes coming up and about lately. My time has been scare.

But you Scribblers still love me. That's my point.

Biking in the Rain

Last Thursday, an interesting thing happened.
I was biking, and on the way back, not only did the "Caution: Alligator Habitat" signs creep me out, it looked like it was about to storm.
Normally, my hippie vibes should have kicked in, and I should have dismounted and danced in the rain and done everything but flip out. But I sort of freaked. (:

Honor, Acknowledge, Salute

Springer has a message that it's taught us. Honor the past, acknowledge the present, and salute the future.
It's been a while, yes. But I've been on a bit of a busy hiatus because a) BUSY-NESS b) business.
I've been occupied with two weeks of interning at the Springer Theatre Academy, and it's been draining. So after a few days of recuperating and getting my crap together, I've got a few doting things to spill. Here's a picture of me with my lovely, wise intern captain, Jessi.

And I've been doing a lot of thinking about Prep School Health Freak. I've been kind of rushing the latest recipe posts, and really just not putting as much soul as I did when this site first started out. I think part of the problem is.. I'm starting to treat this as solely a recipe site. But what makes me fall in love with sharing with you all the more is being able to impact others with my words.

JourneyJournie : April Fools Anniversary {Dinner Cookies Recipe}

Today is actually my one year anniversary of making the decision to give up meat. Yes, it was for all the wrong reasons. I mean, April Fools Day. So I went vegetarian for all the wrong reasons, but I definitely went vegan for all the right reasons. So let's celebrate with some cookies... Err, dinner cookies.

JourneyJournie : Words, Words, Words (Green Goodness Jar Recipe)

My mother once told me that her by her co-worker's words, "bloggers never really know how to write." And that might be true to an extent on my part, as far as my colloquial, low-key, babbling updates about my life are. It's an ongoing diary basically, so I hope my scribbles are balanced out my these recipes. In reality, fictional writing is actually quite a passion. For your constant support though, gotta love my Scribblers! Here's a creamy meal of delicious raw vegan yum for you.

JourneyJournie : Spring Cleanse {Fruit Salad Kale Tacos Recipe}

Spring is in the air, and as the snowman that freezes in all seasons excepting summer, I am incredibly happy about it. This also means that I can start to eat my nicecream towers and tasty vegan smoothies without having to shiver in front of the heater directly afterwards.
*Funny Conversation - Me: oh my gosh this is spring and this is great and i love the weather and oh look green in the grass! My Mother: those are weeds. (For more anecdotes and very vegan problems in 140 characters or less, follow my Twitter.)*
But anyway, spring is also a great day for a refreshing cleanse. Eating more than just predominantly raw, but fully raw, to give your digestive system a break. And for me, I'm taking a little trip to banana island.
Enough about me, though, and let's give you a recipe to get you kickstarted on a little more raw food in your everyday diet! Fruit Salad Tacos... Mmm. <3

JourneyJournie : Happy Half-Birthday {Banana Oatmeal Cookies "Nanookies" Recipe}

It's been six months. Six months ago I sat down and typed up a quick and simple first post for this little blog of mine that I keep. It's come a long way, as have I. And I've gotta say, I'm pretty pleased with it all. In celebration, let's have some of those Nanookies I started out my blog with, recipe revamped.

JourneyJournie : Merry Fudgin' Christmas {Vegan Coconut Fudge Recipe}

Guess what my Christmas present to all you precious readers is? It's good. Maybe even better than this fabulous fudge that I made for my dad.
Because he was demanding his favorite Christmas dessert, and I said that only if I could healthify something made of saturated animal fat and refined sugar. And it was literally yumminess-approved by mom and dad. So get excited. Read all the way to see what I am giving to you wonderful fans.

JourneyJournie : Oat So Much to Do {Blueberry Zoats Recipe}

Well, since last time. What happened since last time anyway? It's been so long and so busy.
I love these JourneyJournies a little selfishly, because perhaps they do only benefit me. Unless you do like learning about the mundane details of my life. Well, I try to balance it out and give you a little something more. Like a recipe. And I'm really proud of this one. So read to the bottom.

JourneyJournie : Up Until Thanksgiving {Make 3 Kinds of Hummus with Me!}

There will be a recipe for each bowl, no worries, no matter how rudimentary. So hang on through the read. (: Because it is Thanksgiving! And I love cooking for others, you know me. So of course I was going to make as many healthy vegan dishes I could manage. This here is just one of the features, hummus three ways. There's edamame, curry chickpea, and beet!

JourneyJournie : Berry Bound

Well, a lot has been happening. I'm initially very loaded with school in general, but now I'm working to make this site more official, featurable, and expendable. I don't know how things will turn out for this site, but I want to believe that I'm "Berry Bound" for success! Don't be afraid to give me feedback on all this new sub-sections! I love hearing your recommendations and criticisms.
Unfortunately, the new busy-ness has made for less opportunity for my personal tidbit inserts into the time capsule section of the blog. So JourneyJournies are now going to be structured much more densely.

Delicious Delay (IG Promo Reprise!)

So, you know how I said that Instagram promotion day was going to be.. A while ago?

Because IG thought I was spam (quite offensive, really), and disabled my account. Now I'm slowly gaining back credibility. And, you will see by looking to the right, I have already stocked up on posts. Now, I would love if you would just fancy clicking below to the right on the follow button. Or follow me HERE. I mean, you would fancy it. Pictures daily of delicious, healthilicious food? Bliss achieved by a single follow.

Pumpkin Pumped

I believe I've actually missed my opportunity for a pumpkin to carve and seed-roast and I'm really sad about it. And the fact that we lost our big game Friday night is a little sad as well. #Broochelli became #Chelli. But win or lose, Cougs still Cougs. ...And the fact that I have tests I'm not ready for tomorrow is never a happy thing either.

But what is great is that yesterday I got to go and reunite with old friends at a bonfire my friend had to "christen his new man cave." And I found my own recipe for A Healthier Halloween.

Smoothie-Sick

Agh, so tonight is supposed to be Family & Bonfire Night, yet I'm here at home, sick, staring and reminiscing at my delicious green smoothie from yesterday morning.

But there's much to be filled in on, anyway! So let's focus on the good not-so-distant memories instead of sitting sulking at the fact that I am impaired with illness and unable to eat. Imagine me, not eating. >x<
