MinuteMusings : Gender Roles (Mango Chia Pudding Recipe)

Now: There is the word equality whispered everywhere, and it has many branches of meaning to it. There's marriage equality, gender equality, racial equality, social equality... The world has come to be a very judgmental place, and everywhere there are heroes marching for justice. In a daytime zoning-out, I came across a musing I would like to share with you. I wonder if gender roles are the cause for the creation of "new genders?"

JourneyJournie : Oat So Much to Do {Blueberry Zoats Recipe}

Well, since last time. What happened since last time anyway? It's been so long and so busy.
I love these JourneyJournies a little selfishly, because perhaps they do only benefit me. Unless you do like learning about the mundane details of my life. Well, I try to balance it out and give you a little something more. Like a recipe. And I'm really proud of this one. So read to the bottom.

{Pilot} CreativeCravings : RawManda

In the Starlight:
RawManda is such an inspiration to me, and I don't even know her! But her site setup, recipes that span the vast spectrum across Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, Facebook, and Twitter, it's all what I aspire to grow my little baby site into. She is a high raw hclf vegan, with a talent for making healthy food look crave-worthy. Please check out her eats and more! She always posts her raw recipes, which also happen to be vegan.

What She Makes:

Right: She is a pro at raw desserts, making them look professionally delicious. It's a wondrous thing that she understands how to come up with a cure for those high-fat raw desserts that can make you feel a little sluggish. Here are her carrot cake balls.

Left: And something else I want to take after, she knows how important it is to also include savory things for people to taste. These genius FullyRaw teriyaki "meat"balls are all from her mind. Aren't you drooling already? Get the recipe now!

Below: Her skills at turning over her parents to see the amazing tastes that can be unleashed through healthy eating astound me and are the ultimate goal. ^.^ She totally dominated Thanksgiving with her fan with her RAW stuffing that simply looks scrumptious, and pumpkin pie tarts that are so delectable I want to make some right now. How to make this Thanksgiving feast? Get the recipes!

And last but not least, she doesn't just stick to the boring status quo of food bloggers. She's sweet enough to share little tips about this healthy lifestyle to those who need it. Like this highly beneficial read where she talks about how to Stay Healthy During the Holiday Season.

Do You Crave It?
So now I look to you for opinion. Do you crave it as much as I do? Respond in the comments below! Till then I will leave you with her bowl of FullyRaw pad thai with kelp noodles! Someone please make this for me!

What's Special About This Book:
Not often do you come across a book so coherently expressive with a storytelling voice so essentially creative.

JourneyJournie : Up Until Thanksgiving {Make 3 Kinds of Hummus with Me!}

There will be a recipe for each bowl, no worries, no matter how rudimentary. So hang on through the read. (: Because it is Thanksgiving! And I love cooking for others, you know me. So of course I was going to make as many healthy vegan dishes I could manage. This here is just one of the features, hummus three ways. There's edamame, curry chickpea, and beet!

{Pilot} WindowWishing : Times of Christmas Coveting

{Well, why do I wish yet again?}
Occasion: It's that time of year. Well, it's been that time of year for a while now. Everyone here has simply been suppressing their Christmas eagerness to make room for Thanksgiving. There are stakes being stuck into the ground and twine wired up: farms preparing to sell those evergreen Christmas trees under which we stick ever-anticipated gifts.

{Pilot} MinuteMusings : Thanksgiving Tendencies

{A little intro that gets straight to the subject.}
Now: Thanksgiving is coming up very, very soon. One of those holidays that America can lay a claim to all by itself. But sometimes there is that buzzing that converts many perspectives from viewing the day as a [genuine celebratory reminder of our fortunate luck of new friends of the first Americans] to a single day of feasting.

{Pilot} VegsGoDevo : Seventy Times Seven

{Inspiration for this particular devotion. <3}
Inspired: Today was started with a freshmen girls' Bible study, and we talked about how God sees all our imperfections, doesn't try to mask them, yet loves us anyway. Emphasizing on this kind of unconditional love, I was thinking about how hard it can be to love other people with God's love. And that means forgiveness.

JourneyJournie : Berry Bound

Well, a lot has been happening. I'm initially very loaded with school in general, but now I'm working to make this site more official, featurable, and expendable. I don't know how things will turn out for this site, but I want to believe that I'm "Berry Bound" for success! Don't be afraid to give me feedback on all this new sub-sections! I love hearing your recommendations and criticisms.
Unfortunately, the new busy-ness has made for less opportunity for my personal tidbit inserts into the time capsule section of the blog. So JourneyJournies are now going to be structured much more densely.

Well, here's my own little accumulation of one of my fave feel-good Broadway shows and some feel-good-even-more raw granola.

{Pilot} RecipMe : Sweet Mango Zoodles

{Usually I'll give you a brief. And RecipMes will usually be accompanied with a pic of me presenting to you the dish. Simply sending good vibes as I hope you enjoy it!!}
New: I've hid this away for awhile now (so this is an older photo), waiting until the RecipMe pilot to share this with you. This is fairly basic, but we're just starting out. (; I used some remaining ingredients from my birthday basket, and whipped up a delicious lunch some day a while ago. Because Zoodles are the best basic.

{Pilot} TopicalFoodie : Women Shouldn't Vote?

{Here, we'll always start with a teaser, just as any post.}
Today: Election days are today. Not for a new president, but for a majority of senate positions and all of house seats. It's midterms! We're making the decisions for the lawmakers of our country today. But there are media sources pushing women from voting.

What's in a Name? aka Label Integration Day!

Today is World Vegan Day. I think that's celebratory. So what a coincidence that today is also the day I introduce to you the way I'm going to split this blog twelve ways to have a branch for every interest you could possibly want catered by me. ^*^ Excited!

This was my first attempt at an original baking recipe, and it turned out delicious, I thought.
Now, click that "Read More" below and find out what all I am bringing to you!

Delicious Delay (IG Promo Reprise!)

So, you know how I said that Instagram promotion day was going to be.. A while ago?

Because IG thought I was spam (quite offensive, really), and disabled my account. Now I'm slowly gaining back credibility. And, you will see by looking to the right, I have already stocked up on posts. Now, I would love if you would just fancy clicking below to the right on the follow button. Or follow me HERE. I mean, you would fancy it. Pictures daily of delicious, healthilicious food? Bliss achieved by a single follow.

Pumpkin Pumped

I believe I've actually missed my opportunity for a pumpkin to carve and seed-roast and I'm really sad about it. And the fact that we lost our big game Friday night is a little sad as well. #Broochelli became #Chelli. But win or lose, Cougs still Cougs. ...And the fact that I have tests I'm not ready for tomorrow is never a happy thing either.

But what is great is that yesterday I got to go and reunite with old friends at a bonfire my friend had to "christen his new man cave." And I found my own recipe for A Healthier Halloween.

Smoothie-Sick

Agh, so tonight is supposed to be Family & Bonfire Night, yet I'm here at home, sick, staring and reminiscing at my delicious green smoothie from yesterday morning.

But there's much to be filled in on, anyway! So let's focus on the good not-so-distant memories instead of sitting sulking at the fact that I am impaired with illness and unable to eat. Imagine me, not eating. >x<

Foreshadowing Fall Foods (Google+ It All!)

Finally I get around to an autumn-themed plate for you guys. (: So Saturday was our one-act competition, and yesterday I'm went to see some of my Harris County favorites in their show at the Springer!

A Year with Frog and Toad was fabulous as all get-out.

Nicecream Before the Night (Tweet, Tweet!)

This was an attempt at aesthetics.
Mixed berries with amazing antioxidants!

So today is the last rehearsal before one-act regionals competition tomorrow! Cheers for John Lennon & Me. ^.^ But that means a full 1-4 rehearsal cram as we prep for the ultimate show Saturday. So right after this I'm going to double time on some projects and worksheets. Hopefully you'll be hearing lots of positive news from me on the competition, though. (:

PSAT Pullover (Instagram Day!)

We had the PSATS today. #.# So obviously it wasn't the funnest way to spend a good Wednesday. Especially since we don't get late start on a testing day. And that meant bad lighting for breakfast. But hey. It was delicious.

However, you'll see that pictured is not the usual depiction of a breakfast. I had fantastical raspberry cereal with chocolate banana mylk, but because of the unfortunate colors, textures, and lighting, the yumminess wasn't as forgivable on the eyes. So I have pictures of my lunch today!

Dates After Homecoming (Video Here!)

Dances are fun, you guys! And who needs a date at the dance when you can have dates afterward?

Lol, please laugh along with me at my cheesy jokes. It's the only humor that translates that well electronically. ^.^ Dates are the most fab vegan fruit staple.

It's Homecoming Week, you guys!

Fruitful

High school will be the best and worst years of your life.

Those words were the key words that I hung onto from Mrs. Betsy Covington on Ethics Days last Thursday. But only just now did I realize exactly what they meant.

Triple Threat Treatment Treat

I have three tests today, you guys. TGIF. And my titles are getting slightly pathetic. Booyah.

I jest, I jest. I promise I do not habitually wallow in pessimism. I hate it when people pee on their own sunshine.

Monkey Mylk and Chimpanzee Chillens

Late start days are life. ^.^ And please don't take offense at the title, I mean to coin the nickname chimpanzee with only affection.

Rodeo Round Up

Wow, I did not realize high school would be this busy.
That's something I seem to say every year, as I advance in the tiers of American schooling and get undeniably older... I am completely unprepared for the next step of life ahead of me. Like, when did this happen?

Wednesday, September 10, 2014

Chia Cookie Catchup

I've already raved about late start mornings and the great breakfast opportunities they provide, correct? Okie-dokes. Then you must take a look at these AMAZING raw vegan dessert bites I had today. I love pictures in the late morning. It's perfection.

It's a Monday off of school, and even though it's barely been any more than two weeks, I'm already singing at the idea of a break.

Study Snacks

A couple of great girls had the idea last year to make a small Bible study group for freshmen girls happen this year, coming into the upper school from Brookstone middle school. This Thursday is the first time we will meet, so as a little treat I thought to make some breakfast dessert snacks to bring!

Avotella Advocate

On the topic of getting involved, one of my best friends that came with me as a newbie to Brookstone, is starting a debate club at the school, co-founding it alongside me.

Veggible Involvement

As a new student, the main piece of advice I was told before I came was "to GET INVOLVED."

So yesterday, I auditioned for the Brookstone one-act, and today during assembly I gave a speech and ran for SGA Treasurer.

Banana Newbie

A number of months earlier, I started a tedious process with the possibility of rejection looming over my head the entire time.

I applied to Brookstone.
